Here’s to all of you in 2021. May this year bring more happiness and wonderful moments than the last. May we all gain further insight into our life’s purpose. May we embrace this years ups and downs with open arms, so that as 2021 comes to a close, we are proud of what we’ve accomplished in the short time span of a year, and welcome 2022 with an excitement we did not know existed.
Now hold on – yes, I’ve fast-forwarded to 2022 already. The thing is, with the years flying by faster and faster every year, we might as well embrace the fact that we’ll be eating freaking turkey again before we know it, dreading the sore backs and lack of cartilage in our knees after wrapping all those dang Christmas presents, and yes, Mom will yet again conveniently “forget” that you can’t stand that cranberry relish and just about offer to spoon feed it to you, yet again.
I’ll be 42 tomorrow…what the hell happened?! To those of you who have birthdays around the holidays, I feel for you, I really do. Christmas presents double for birthday presents, you were never able to have that awesome pool party ALL of your other friends seemed to have growing up, and sometimes, you find yourself pondering whether your parents were secretly betting on a tax deduction for an entire year while only having to pay for a day or two of new child expenses. But all kidding aside, I really embrace it now as an adult. It seems kind of special that not only are we all celebrating the start of a New Year, but I am one of the lucky ones that gets to combine the New Year for everyone with a new year for me. It’s an extra special time of year, full of new beginnings.
But let’s get to the most important point. Welcome to Bluebird & Lemon. May you find joy & laughter along my journey to embrace life to the fullest, and I hope it inspires you to join me. May you feel peace in knowing you’re not alone nor the only one that feels this way or that way from time to time. May you discover the courage to try something new that feels intimidating. May we encourage each other to look at the glass half full and grow together. May everyone find a little more happiness and beauty each and every day, and when life gets tough, let’s take those damn lemon’s and make ourselves a drink! I am so excited and looking forward to sharing this journey with you.
What about you? Think about it – New Year’s eve, the countdown has begun…where do you want to be in life? What is one thing you can do this year that would cause a little smile to spread over your face when the ball reaches its destination at the end of this year? Let me know in the comments below, I can’t wait to hear!
All the best,
Holly
P.S. I love you Mom. Just not the cranberry relish, but Thanksgiving would never be the same without it, so you just keep on “forgetting”. XOXO
